Cooper Xi'An fusegear came into the Eaton Bussmann organisation in 2006 and covers several linked entities: the fuse manufacturing company itself, a low-voltage electrical equipment branch, a separate appliance company, and a supply station. For a buyer the relevant question is not the corporate structure but which product families are actually manufactured there, because that determines availability and lead time.
Product families from the Xi'an operation
| Product family | Typical use | Where it appears in a BOM |
| Fast-blow fuses | Semiconductor and electronics protection | Drive input, rectifier, control supply |
| Medium-voltage fuses | Motor and transformer circuits | Switch-fuse, motor starter, RMU |
| Low-voltage fuses | Distribution and control circuits | Panel feeders, control transformers |
| Fusegear accessories | Holders, bases, indicating kits | Retrofit and spares |
For a fuse, the manufacturing site determines which approval marks appear on the body and which standard the part is tested to. A part made for the Chinese domestic market may carry CCC rather than UL, and the two are not interchangeable even where the physical dimensions match. When a drawing specifies a UL-recognised fuse, the part has to come from a line that holds that recognition, so the origin is a procurement constraint rather than a detail.
Three checks resolve most substitution questions: the approval mark moulded or printed on the body, the standard reference in the manufacturer's datasheet, and the dimensional drawing including the striker. Where a part is sourced through distribution rather than direct, confirming the approval mark on the actual delivered lot is the only reliable check, because catalogue descriptions are frequently carried over between regional variants.
